Sir Richard Aldworth was the son of Richard Aldworth.1 He married Ellen Poer.1 He died on 21 June 1629, without issue.1
Between 1610 and 1615 Richard obtained grants of land for settlement at Short Castle, County Cork, IrelandG.1 He was appointed to the office of Provost-Marshal of Muster on 3 May 1610.1 He was appointed Knight circa 1612.1 He held the office of Vice-President of Munster.1

Richard Aldworth was baptised on 10 August 1596.1 He was the son of William Aldworth.1 He married Anne Mervyn. They had no issue.1
He inherited Short Castle from his uncle on 21 June 1629.1 He was confirmed in 1638 as having settled at Newmarket, County Cork, IrelandG.1 In 1638 Richard Aldworth was also confirmed as having settled at Ballyhooley, County Cork, IrelandG.1
