     Sir Edward Seymour, 3rd Bt. was baptised on 10 September 1610.1 He was the son of Sir Edward Seymour, 2nd Bt. and Dorothy Killigrew.1 He married Anne Portman, daughter of Sir John Portman, 1st Bt. and Anne Gifford, circa 1630.2 He died on 7 December 1688 at age 78.2
     He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Devon between 1640 and 1644.1 He succeeded as the 3rd Baronet Seymour, of Berry Pomeroy [E., 1611] on 5 October 1659.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Devon in 1660.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Totnes between 1661 and 1687.1 He held the office of High Sheriff of Devon in 1679.1

     Her married name became Seymour.

     Sir John Portman, 1st Bt. was the son of Sir Henry Portman and Jane Mitchell.2 He married Anne Gifford, daughter of Sir Henry Gifford and Susanna Brouncker, circa 1600.3 He died on 4 December 1612.3
     He was appointed Knight on 3 February 1604/5.3 He held the office of Sheriff of Somerset from 1606 to 1607.3 He gained the title of 1st Baronet Portman, of Orchard Portman, co. Somerset [England] on 25 November 1612.3

     Sir Edward Seymour, 4th Bt. was born in 1633.1 He was the son of Sir Edward Seymour, 3rd Bt. and Anne Portman.3 He married, firstly, Margaret Wale, daughter of Sir William Wale and Margaret Spark, on 7 September 1661.1 He married, secondly, Letitia Popham, daughter of General Alexander Popham and Letitia Carre, in 1674.3 He died on 17 February 1707/8.1
     He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Hendon between 1661 and 1678.1 He held the office of Speaker, House of Commons between 1672 and 1679.1 He was appointed Privy Counsellor (P.C.) in 1673.1 He held the office of Treasurer of the Navy between 1673 and 1681.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Devon from 1678 to 1679.1 In 1679 he was mainly responsible for the Habeas Corpus Act.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Totnes between 1679 and 1681.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Exeter in 1685.1 He succeeded as the 4th Baronet Seymour, of Berry Pomeroy [E., 1611] on 7 December 1688.1 He held the office of Commissioner of the Treasury between 1691 and 1694.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Totnes between 1695 and 1698.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Exeter between 1698 and 1708.1 He held the office of Comptroller of the Household between 1702 and 1704.1

     Francis Seymour-Conway, 1st Baron Conway of Ragley was born on 28 May 1679.1 He was the son of Sir Edward Seymour, 4th Bt. and Letitia Popham.2 He married, firstly, Lady Mary Hyde, daughter of Laurence Hyde, 1st Earl of Rochester and Lady Henrietta Boyle, on 17 February 1703/4.1 He married, secondly, Jane Bowden in 1709.1 He married, thirdly, Charlotte Shorter, daughter of John Shorter and Elizabeth Philipps, in July 1716.3 He died on 3 February 1731/32 at age 52.1
     He was given the name of Francis Seymour at birth.1 In 1699 his name was legally changed to Francis Seymour-Conway.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) (Tory) for Bramber in 1701.1 He was created 1st Baron Conway of Ragley, co. Warwick [Great Britain] on 17 March 1702/3.1 He was created 1st Baron Conway and Killultagh, co. Antrim [Ireland] on 16 October 1712.1 He held the office of Governor of Carrickfergus between 1728 and 1732.1 He was appointed Privy Counsellor (P.C.) [Ireland] in February 1727/28.1
