     Lieutenant Algernon Robert Sanderson was born on 18 October 1844.1 He was the son of Richard Sanderson and Hon. Charlotte Matilda Manners-Sutton.1 He died in 1863 at Umbeyla PassG, killed in action.1
     He gained the rank of Lieutenant in the 101st Bengal Infantry.1

     Henry Sanderson Furniss, 1st and last Baron Sanderson was born on 1 October 1868.2 He was the son of Thomas Sanderson Furniss and Mary Sanderson.1 He married Averil Dorothy Nicholl, daughter of Henry Frederick Nicholl, on 23 January 1902.2 He died on 25 March 1939 at age 70.2
     He graduated from Hertford College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, EnglandG, with a Master of Arts (M.A.)2 He was a lecturer between 1907 and 1916 at Ruskin College, Oxford, Oxfordshire, EnglandG.2 He was the principal between 1916 and 1925 at Ruskin College, Oxford, Oxfordshire, EnglandG.2 He was editor of The Industrial Outlook in 1917.2 He was created 1st Baron Sanderson, of Hunmanby, co. York [U.K.] on 18 June 1930.1
