Colonel Henry Gerard Hegan Kennard was born on 28 March 1871.2 He was the son of Adam Steinmetz Kennard and Grace Ellen Hegan.2 He married Nancy Poyser, daughter of Colonel R. Poyser, on 15 January 1895.2
