     Major Peter Hugh Hordern was born on 13 July 1916.1 He is the son of Lt.-Col. Charles Hordern and Cecil Pearl Beeching.1 He married Alison Cecily Weakley, daughter of Arthur Leonard Weakley, on 2 August 1941.1
     He was educated at Marlborough College, Marlborough, Wiltshire, EnglandG.1 He was educated at Royal Military College, Sandhurst, Berkshire, EnglandG.1 He gained the rank of Major in the Royal Tank Regiment.1 He fought in the Second World War between 1939 and 1945, where he was mentioned in despatches.1 He was appointed Member, Order of the British Empire (M.B.E.) in 1941.1 He was awarded the Distinguished Service Order (D.S.O.) in 1945.1 He became a Freeman, Armourers and Braziers Company.1 He adopted Janet Josephine Hordern.2

     Alison Cecily Weakley was born on 10 July 1920.2 She was the daughter of Arthur Leonard Weakley.1 She married Major Peter Hugh Hordern, son of Lt.-Col. Charles Hordern and Cecil Pearl Beeching, on 2 August 1941.1 She died in 1986 at Dorset, England.2
     From 2 August 1941, her married name became Hordern.1 She adopted Janet Josephine Hordern.3
