Alexander Abercromby was born in 1675.2 He was the son of Sir Alexander Abercromby of Birkenbog, 1st Bt. and Elizabeth Baird.1 He married Mary Duff, daughter of Alexander Duff of Braco and Margaret Gordon, in 1699.2
