     Herbert Edward Clerk was born on 15 April 1871.¹ He was the son of Edward Clerk and Alice Bramston.² He married Helen Heuer, daughter of Julius A. Heuer, on 15 August 1908.¹ He died on 6 July 1931 at age 60.¹

     Helen Heuer was the daughter of Julius A. Heuer.² She married Herbert Edward Clerk, son of Edward Clerk and Alice Bramston, on 15 August 1908.¹ She died on 21 May 1946.¹
     From 15 August 1908, her married name became Clerk.¹

     Margery Alice Clerk was born on 18 May 1913.¹ She was the daughter of Herbert Edward Clerk and Helen Heuer.² She married Major Richard Thornton, son of Richard Thornton, on 30 November 1937.¹ She died in 1993.¹
     She was educated at St. Paul's Girls' School, London, England^G.¹ From 30 November 1937, her married name became Thornton. She held the office of Councillor for Chelsea Borough between 1945 and 1956.¹ She held the office of Councillor for the London City Council between 1946 and 1958.¹ She graduated from St. Hugh's College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England^G, in 1948 with a Master of Arts (M.A.)¹ She held the office of Deputy-Chairman of the London City Council between 1957 and 1958.¹ She was appointed Commander, Order of the British Empire (C.B.E.) in 1959.¹ She held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) in 1966.¹
