Sir George Colebrooke, 2nd Bt. was born on 14 January 1729.1 He was the son of James Colebrooke and Mary Hudson.1 He married Mary Gaynor, daughter of Patrick Gaynor, on 23 July 1754.1 He died on 5 August 1809 at age 80.2
He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Arundel between 1754 and 1775.1 He was chairman of the board of the Honourable East India Company in 1760.1 He succeeded as the 2nd Baronet Colebrooke, of Gatton, co. Surrey [G.B., 1759] on 10 May 1761.1 He was chairman of the board of the Honourable East India Company in 1771.1 He has an extensive biographical entry in the Dictionary of National Biography.3
