     Lt.-Col. Hon. John Denis Yelverton Bingham was born on 11 August 1880.1 He was the son of John George Barry Bingham, 5th Baron Clanmorris of Newbrook and Matilda Catherine Maude Ward.2 He married Vera Mary Darbyshire, daughter of Major Norman Darbyshire, on 29 July 1926.1 He died in 1978.2
     Lt.-Col. Hon. John Denis Yelverton Bingham usually went by his middle name of Denis.1 He fought in the First World War, where he was mentioned in despatches twice.1 He gained the rank of Brevet Lieutenant-Colonel in the 15th/19th Hussars.1 He was Distinguished Service Order (D.S.O.) in 1918.1 He was awarded the Chevalier, Ordre national de la Légion d'honneur.1
