George Lindsay was the son of John Lindsay and Margaret Haliburton.1 He married Margaret Bethune, daughter of Thomas Bethune of Tarvet and Ann Paterson, on 2 September 1721 at Cassingray, Fife, ScotlandG.2 He died on 10 February 1764.1

Margaret Bethune was born on 7 June 1704.2 She was the daughter of Thomas Bethune of Tarvet and Ann Paterson.1,2 She was baptised on 21 June 1704 at Cupar, Fife, ScotlandG.2 She married George Lindsay, son of John Lindsay and Margaret Haliburton, on 2 September 1721 at Cassingray, Fife, ScotlandG.2 She died on 23 December 1778 at age 74 at Wormiston, Fife, ScotlandG.2
