Owny O'Dempsey1

     Owny O'Dempsey was born in 1593 at Ballybrittas, County Laois, Ireland.2 He was the son of Terence O'Dempsey, 1st Viscount Clanmalier and Mary FitzGerald.1 He married, firstly, Mary Nugent, daughter of Christopher Nugent, Lord Delvin and Lady Anne Mac Donnell, before 1611.1 He married Jane Moore, daughter of Sir John Moore and Dorothy Loftus, in 1620 at Clonygowan, County Offaly, Ireland.2 He married, thirdly, Ismay Bellew, daughter of Sir Christopher Bellew, after 1630.2 He died between February 1637 and September 1638 at Castle of Clonygowan, Clonygowan, County Offaly, Ireland.1,2
     He was also known as Anthony.1

Lewis O'Dempsey, 2nd Viscount Clanmalier1

     Lewis O'Dempsey, 2nd Viscount Clanmalier was the son of Owny O'Dempsey and Mary Nugent.1 He married, firstly, Martha Itchingham, daughter of John Itchingham and Margaret Whitly.1 He married, secondly, Dorothy Molloy, daughter of Colonel Charles Molloy, circa 7 March 1671.1 He died in 1683.1 He died intestate and his estate was administered on 25 August 1683.1
     He succeeded as the 2nd Baron of Phillipstown, King's County [I., 1631] circa 1638.1 He succeeded as the 2nd Viscount Clanmalier, King's and Queen's County [I., 1631] circa 1638.1 In 1641 he joined in the rebellion,a nd was attainted, and his estates confiscated.1 On 27 December 1662 he was restored to a third of his estates and presumably to his peerage.1

Sir Christopher O'Dempsey1

     Sir Christopher O'Dempsey was the son of Owny O'Dempsey and Mary Nugent.1 He died before 1683, without issue.1
     He was appointed Knight on 13 July 1624.1

     Martha Itchingham is the daughter of John Itchingham and Margaret Whitly.1 She married Lewis O'Dempsey, 2nd Viscount Clanmalier, son of Owny O'Dempsey and Mary Nugent.1
     After her marriage, Martha Itchingham was styled as Viscountess Clanmalier. Her married name became O'Dempsey.1

Dorothy Molloy1

     Dorothy Molloy was the daughter of Colonel Charles Molloy.1 She married, firstly, Lewis O'Dempsey, 2nd Viscount Clanmalier, son of Owny O'Dempsey and Mary Nugent, circa 7 March 1671.1 She married, secondly, Kyran Molloy before 4 February 1695.1 She died between 21 May 1707 and 2 February 1709.1 Her will (dated 21 May 1707) was proven (by probate) on 2 February 1709.1
     After her marriage, Dorothy Molloy was styled as Viscountess Clanmalier circa 7 March 1671. From circa 7 March 1671, her married name became O'Dempsey.1
