Commander James Caulfeild was the son of Colonel William Caulfeild and Lucy Sanderson.2 He married, firstly, Hon. Augusta Crofton, daughter of Sir Edward Crofton, 2nd Bt. and Anne Croker, Baroness Crofton of Mote, on 8 May 1823.1 He married Emily Olivia French, daughter of Lt.-Col. John French and Ann Story, in 1833.3 He died on 22 October 1851.1

Sir Edward Crofton, 2nd Bt. was the son of Sir Marcus Lowther-Crofton, 1st Bt. and Catherine Crofton.2 He married Anne Croker, Baroness Crofton of Mote, daughter of Thomas Croker and Anne Ryves, on 13 April 1767.2 He died on 30 September 1797.3 He was also reported to have died on 28 September 1797.2
He gained the rank of Colonel in the Roscommon Militia.3 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for County Roscommon between 1768 and 1769.4 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for County Roscommon between 1776 and 1797.3 He succeeded as the 2nd Baronet Lowther-Crofton, of The Moate, co. Roscommon [I., 1758] on 16 January 1784.3

Augusta Crofton.2 He married Dorothea Jane French, daughter of William Christopher St. George French and Dorothea Helen Harris, on 8 June 1847.1 He died on 4 March 1894 at age 69.1
