Colonel Robert Caulfeild was born on 16 March 1829.1 He was the son of John Caulfeild and Anne Lovell Bury.2 He married Caroline Henriette Magill, daughter of William Magill, on 2 December 1857.1 He died on 6 September 1905 at age 76.1
