     Lt.-Col. George William Holt Innes was born on 5 December 1900 at Hamilton, BermudaG.1,2 He was the son of Commander Edward Henry Innes and Mary Laughlin Fraser.3 He married Alexandra Dunbar Marshall, daughter of Dunbar Marshall and Fanny Smith Bullitt, on 7 October 1931 at Savoy Chapel, Chelsea, London, EnglandG.4,2 He died on 8 August 1983 at age 82 at 24 Matlock Road, Caterham, Surrey, EnglandG.4,2 He was buried on 12 August 1983 at St. Mary's, Caterham-on-the-Hill, Surrey, EnglandG.2
     He was educated at Felsted School, Felsted, Essex, EnglandG.2 He was educated at Royal Military College, Sandhurst, Berkshire, England.5 He fought in the Second World War.5 He was commander of the 12th Battalion, Royal Hampshire Regiment between 1941 and 1943.5 He was commander of the 70th Battalion, West Yorkshire Regiment between 1941 and 1943.5 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the West Yorkshire Regiment.5 He was Deputy Commander of the Regierungsbezirk Lüneburg, Control Commission Germany between 1945 and 1946.5 He was an Army officer and business secretary.2 He was appointed Member, Order of the British Empire (M.B.E.)2 He had two duaghters, who have requested that most of their details be withheld.
