     Marguerite III d'Avesnes, Comtesse de Hainaut et Gravin van Holland en Zeeland was born in 1311. She was the daughter of Guillaume V (III) d'Avesnes, Comte de Hainaut et Graaf van Holland en Zeeland and Jeanne de Valois.1 She married Ludwig IV von Bayern, Holy Roman Emperor, son of Ludwig II Herzog von Oberbayern and Mathilde von Habsburg, on 25 February 1324 at Cologne, Germany.2 She died circa 1356.
     She succeeded as the Gravin van Holland en Zeeland in 1345.1 She succeeded as the Comtesse de Hainaut in 1345.1 She abdicated as Countess of Holland in 1354.1

She married Robert de Dampierre-Namur, Seigneur de Beaufort-sur-Meuse et de Renaix, son of Jean I de Dampierre, Markgraf von Namur and Marie d'Artois, in 1354. She died in 1361.
