     Thomas Greer was born on 4 April 1837.2 He was the son of Alfred Greer and Helena Carroll.3 He married Margaret Owden, daughter of John Owden and Jane Greeves, on 28 July 1864.2 He died on 20 September 1905 at age 68.2
     He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for County Antrim.2 In 1870 High Sheriff of Carrickfergus.2 He held the office of High Sheriff of County Tyrone in 1876.2 He was appointed Fellow, Royal Geographical Society (F.R.G.S.)1 He was Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Carrickfergus between 1880 and 1885.2 He lived at Sea Park, County Antrim, IrelandG.1 He lived at Grove House, Regent's Park, London, EnglandG.1
