     Lt.-Col. Chichester Fortescue was born on 12 August 1777.1 He was the son of Thomas Fortescue and Mary Nicholson.1 He married Martha Angel Hobson, daughter of Samuel Meade Hobson, on 10 August 1809.1 He died on 25 November 1826 at age 49.1
     He held the office of High Sheriff of County Louth in 1800.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Hillsborough.1 He lived at Dromisken, County Louth, IrelandG.1

Harriet Fortescue1

     Harriet Fortescue was the daughter of Thomas Fortescue and Mary Nicholson.1 She married Rt. Hon. George Knox, son of Thomas Knox, 1st Viscount Northland of Dungannon and Hon. Anne Vesey, on 12 November 1812.1 She died on 20 January 1816.2
     From 12 November 1812, her married name became Knox.1

Rt. Hon. George Knox1

     Rt. Hon. George Knox was born on 14 January 1765.2 He was the son of Thomas Knox, 1st Viscount Northland of Dungannon and Hon. Anne Vesey.2 He married, firstly, Anne Staples, daughter of Sir Robert Staples, 7th Bt. and Hon. Jane Vesey, on 27 January 1805.2 He married, secondly, Harriet Fortescue, daughter of Thomas Fortescue and Mary Nicholson, on 12 November 1812.3 He died on 13 June 1827 at age 62.2
     He was awarded the honorary degree of Doctor of Civil Law (D.C.L.)1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.)2 He was appointed Privy Counsellor (P.C.)2

     Thomas Knox, 1st Viscount Northland of Dungannon was born on 20 April 1729.1 He was the son of Thomas Knox and Hester Echlin.2 He married Hon. Anne Vesey, daughter of John Denny Vesey, 1st Baron Knapton and Elizabeth Brownlow, on 23 August 1753.2 He died on 5 November 1818 at age 89.1
     He held the office of Governor of County Tyrone.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Dungannon between 1755 and 1781.1 He was created 1st Baron Welles of Dungannon, co. Tyrone [Ireland] on 8 January 1781.1 He was created 1st Viscount Northland of Dungannon, co. Tyrone [Ireland] on 5 July 1791.1 He held the office of Representative Peer [Ireland] between 1800 and 1818.1

     Hon. Anne Vesey was the daughter of John Denny Vesey, 1st Baron Knapton and Elizabeth Brownlow.2 She married Thomas Knox, 1st Viscount Northland of Dungannon, son of Thomas Knox and Hester Echlin, on 23 August 1753.2 She died on 14 October 1803.1 She was also reported to have died on 21 October 1803.2
     From 23 August 1753, her married name became Knox.1 After her marriage, Hon. Anne Vesey was styled as Baroness Welles of Dungannon on 7 January 1781. After her marriage, Hon. Anne Vesey was styled as Viscountess Northland of Dungannon on 5 July 1791.

John Denny Vesey, 1st Baron Knapton1

     John Denny Vesey, 1st Baron Knapton was the son of Rt. Rev. Sir Thomas Vesey, 1st Bt. and Mary Muschamp.2,1 He married Elizabeth Brownlow, daughter of William Brownlow, in 1732.1 He died on 25 July 1761.1
     He succeeded as the 2nd Baronet Vesey [I., 1698] on 6 August 1730.1 He was created 1st Baron Knapton, of Queen's County [Ireland] on 10 April 1750.1

     Martha Angel Hobson is the daughter of Samuel Meade Hobson.1 She married Lt.-Col. Chichester Fortescue, son of Thomas Fortescue and Mary Nicholson, on 10 August 1809.1
     From 10 August 1809, her married name became Fortescue.1

     Thomas Fortescue, 1st Baron Clermont of Dromisken was born on 9 March 1815.1 He was the son of Lt.-Col. Chichester Fortescue and Martha Angel Hobson.1 He married Lady Louisa Grace Butler, daughter of James Wandesford Butler, 1st Marquess of Ormonde and Grace Louisa Staples, on 26 September 1840 at Marylebone Church, Marylebone, London, EnglandG.1,2 He died on 29 July 1887 at age 72 at Ravensdale Park, County Louth, IrelandG, without issue.1,2 He was buried at Jonesborough Church, Jonesborough, County Louth, IrelandG.2
     He graduated from Exeter College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, EnglandG, in 1833 with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)1 He matriculated at Exeter College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, EnglandG, on 9 May 1833.2 On 22 August 1833 he succeeded his 4th cousin, Sir H. J. Goodricke, Bt., to the estate of Ravensdale Park.2 He held the office of High Sheriff of County Louth in 1839.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) (Liberal) for County Louth between 1840 and 1841.1 He was created 1st Baron Clermont of Dromisken, co. Louth [Ireland] on 11 February 1852, with a special remainder to his brother.1 He was created 1st Baron Clermont of Clermont Park, co. Louth [U.K.] on 2 May 1866.1
     On his death, the U.K. barony of Clermont became extinct.2
