Lt.-Col. Hon. John Lindsay was born on 15 March 1762.1 He was the son of James Lindsay, 5th Earl of Balcarres and Anne Dalrymple.1 He married Lady Charlotte North, daughter of Frederick North, 2nd Earl of Guilford and Anne Speke, on 2 April 1800.1 He died on 6 March 1826 at age 63, without issue.1
He gained the rank of Colonel in the 71st Highlanders.1

Hon. Hugh Lindsay was born on 30 October 1765.2 He was the son of James Lindsay, 5th Earl of Balcarres and Anne Dalrymple.1,2 He married Jane Gordon, daughter of Hon. Alexander Gordon, Lord Rockville and Anne Duff, on 14 January 1799 at Bargeny, Ayrshire, ScotlandG.2,3 He died on 23 April 1844 at age 78.2
