     Sir Charles Robert Mitchell Jackson was born in 1813.1 He was the son of Maj.-Gen. Alexander Cosby Jackson.1 He married Jane Armitage, daughter of Edward Armitage and Sarah Ann Thompson, in 1844 at Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, England.2 He died in 1874.1
     He held the office of Member of the Legislative Council (M.L.C.) [India] in 1859.1 He held the office of Judge of the High Court of Judicature in 1862.1 He was Royal Commissioner on the failure of the Bank of Bombay in 1868.1 He held the office of Auditor of the India Office in 1873.1
