William Sempill, 2nd Lord Sempill was the son of John Sempill, 1st Lord Sempill and Margaret Colville.1 He married, thirdly, Marion Montgomerie, daughter of Hugh Montgomerie.2 He married, firstly, Margaret Montgomerie, daughter of Hugh Montgomerie, 1st Earl of Eglinton and Lady Helen Campbell, before 20 July 1517.2 He married, secondly, Elizabeth Arnot, daughter of John Arnot, before 12 February 1522/23.3 He died on 3 June 1552 at Edinburgh, Midlothian, ScotlandG.1
