     He was awarded the Distinguished Service Cross (D.S.C.)1 He gained the rank of Captain in the Royal Navy.1 He fought in the First World War, where he was mentioned in despatches.1 He was Chief Constable of the R.M. Police between 1936 and 1946.1 He lived at Hart's Gorse, Beddingham, Lewes, Sussex, EnglandG.2
