Sir Bedford Lockwood Dorman, 2nd Bt. was born on 6 April 1879.2 He was the son of Sir Arthur John Dorman, 1st Bt. and Clara Share Lockwood.2 He married Constance Phelps Hay, daughter of Alexander Sowerby Hay and Isabella Jameson Waterlow, on 26 March 1919.2 He died on 5 September 1956 at age 77.2
He gained the rank of Temporary Captain in the Royal Army Ordnance Corps.2 He was deputy chairman of the North Riding Yorkshire Quarter Sessions.2 He was admitted to Inner Temple in 1901 entitled to practise as a barrister.2 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for the North Riding, Yorkshire.2 He succeeded as the 2nd Baronet Dorman, of Nunthorpe, co. Yorks [U.K., 1923] on 12 February 1931.2 He was appointed Commander, Order of the British Empire (C.B.E.) in 1948.2
