     Jane Digby was born circa 1637.1 She was the daughter of George Digby and Mary Chetwynd.1 She married, firstly, Charles Gerard, 4th Baron Gerard of Gerard's Bromley, son of Dutton Gerard, 3rd Baron Gerard of Gerard's Bromley and Lady Mary Fane, circa 28 November 1660.1 She married, secondly, Sir Edward Hungerford, son of Anthony Hungerford and Rachel Jones, before 1682.2,3 She died in November 1703.1 She was also reported to have died on 23 November 1692.2
     From circa 28 November 1660, her married name became Gerard.1 From before 1682, her married name became Hungerford.2

     Sir Walter Chetwynd was born at Ingestre, Staffordshire, EnglandG.2 He was the son of John Chetwynd and Marjory Middlemore.3 He married, firstly, Mary Mullins, daughter of John Mullins.1 He married, secondly, Lady Catherine Hastings, daughter of George Hastings, 4th Earl of Huntingdon and Dorothy Port, in 1605.1 He died on 21 May 1638.2
     He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Newcastle-under-Lyme in 1584.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Newcastle-under-Lyme in 1603.1 He held the office of High Sheriff of Shropshire in 1607.1 He held the office of Mayor of Newcastle-under-Lyme from 1613 to 1614.2 He lived at Ingestre, Staffordshire, EnglandG.1

     She descended in the female line from Oliver Cromwell, and was the great-aunt of George Bernard Shaw.2 Her married name became Christian.1
