     George Calvin Clifton Adams was born on 15 November 1848 at Pitcairn Island^G.¹ He was the son of Jonathan Adams and Phoebe Quintal.¹ He died on 14 September 1862 at age 13 at Norfolk Island^G.²

     Eliza Sabia Adams was born on 20 December 1849 at Pitcairn Island^G.¹ She was the daughter of Jonathan Adams and Phoebe Quintal.¹ She married, secondly, Albert Victor Bataille on 15 May 1878 at Norfolk Island^G.¹ She died on 15 November 1911 at age 61 at Norfolk Island^G.¹
     Eliza Sabia Adams also went by the nick-name of Seabury.² From 15 May 1878, her married name became Bataille.¹

     Albert Victor Bataille was born at Belgium^G.¹ He married Eliza Sabia Adams, daughter of Jonathan Adams and Phoebe Quintal, on 15 May 1878 at Norfolk Island^G.¹ He died before 1899.¹
     He was a plantation proprietor in New Caledonia, where he was said to have
been married to a French woman and had a separate family. After coming to
Norfolk, they lived in the 2-story Officer's Mess (New Military Barracks),
which had been the home of Seabury's parents. They lived there until she,
as a widow, was evicted in 1908.¹

     Bessie Elizabeth Bataille was born on 3 April 1871 at New Caledonia^G.¹ She was the daughter of Eliza Sabia Adams.¹ She married, firstly, Artur Amie Courtois on 27 June 1894 at Noumea, New Caledonia^G.¹ She married, secondly, John Gondon on 28 August 1905 at Paris, France^G.¹ She died on 1 September 1948 at age 77 at Norfolk Island.²
     As a child, she was known as Seabury Bessie Adams, but used her stepfather's
name as she grew older.¹ From 27 June 1894, her married name became Courtois.¹ From 28 August 1905, her married name became Gondon.¹

     Artur Amie Courtois was born circa 1871 at Versailles, Île-de-France, France^G.¹ He married Bessie Elizabeth Bataille, daughter of Eliza Sabia Adams, on 27 June 1894 at Noumea, New Caledonia^G.¹

     John Gondon was born circa 1878 at Gioux, France^G.¹ He married Bessie Elizabeth Bataille, daughter of Eliza Sabia Adams, on 28 August 1905 at Paris, France^G.¹

     Lucie Estelle Aveline Courtois was born on 4 September 1896 at Norfolk Island^G.¹ She was the daughter of Artur Amie Courtois and Bessie Elizabeth Bataille.¹ She married Frank Henry Downes, son of Henry George Downes and Rachel Jane Hilder, in 1932.¹ She died on 18 September 1967 at age 71.²
     Lucie Estelle Aveline Courtois also went by the nick-name of Doo Doo.¹ From 1932, her married name became Downes.¹

     Frank Henry Downes was born on 4 December 1895 at Brisbane, Queensland, Australia^G.³ He was the son of Henry George Downes and Rachel Jane Hilder.¹ He married, firstly, Marjorie Eleanor Irene White on 16 June 1917.³ He and Marjorie Eleanor Irene White were divorced on 4 June 1931.³ He married, secondly, Lucie Estelle Aveline Courtois, daughter of Artur Amie Courtois and Bessie Elizabeth Bataille, in 1932.¹ He died on 28 August 1939 at age 43 at 33 Llandaff Street, Waverley, Sydney, New South Wales, Australia^G.³
     He fought in the Gallipoli Campaign, where he received a gunshot wound to both eyes.³ He gained the rank of in the 9th Battalion, Australian Imperial Force.³

     Beverly Downes was born at Norfolk Island^G.¹ She is the daughter of Frank Henry Downes and Lucie Estelle Aveline Courtois.¹
