William Parsons was the son of Sir Laurence Parsons and Jane Malham.1 He married Dorothy Philips, daughter of Sir Thomas Philips, on 19 June 1636.1 He died in 1653.1
He was Governor of the territory of Ely O'Carroll in 1641.1 On 20 January 1642/43 he held Birr Castle for 14-15 months before surrendering to the Confederate Irish.1 He had three younger sons and three daughters.1

Sir William Parsons, 2nd Bt. was the son of Sir Laurence Parsons, 1st Bt. and Frances Savage.2 He married, firstly, Elizabeth Preston, daughter of Sir George Preston, Bt..2 He and Elizabeth St. George obtained a marriage license on 10 February 1718/19.2 He died on 17 March 1740/41.1
He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for King's County [Ireland] between 1692 and 1741.2 He succeeded as the 2nd Baronet Parsons, of Birr Castle [I., 1677] in 1698.2
