Air Chief Marshal Sir John Alexander Carlisle Aiken was born on 22 December 1921.2 He was the son of Thomas Leonard Aiken and Margaret Tannahill.2 He married Pamela Jane Bartlett in 1948.2 He died on 31 May 2005 at age 83.2
He was educated at Birkenhead School, Birkenhead, Cheshire, EnglandG.2 He fought in the Second World War.2 He gained the rank of officer in 1941 in the Royal Air Force.2 He was Commander of the British Forces Near East.3 He was appointed Companion, Order of the Bath (C.B.) in 1967.2 He was appointed Knight Commander, Order of the Bath (K.C.B.) in 1973.1 He was Director General of Intelligence between 1978 and 1981.2

John Reedham Erskine Berney was born on 31 March 1929.1 He was the son of Major Sir Thomas Reedham Berney, 10th Bt. and Marjorie Agnew Erskine Gill.1 He married Hon. Jean Davina Stuart, daughter of James Gray Stuart, 1st Viscount Stuart of Findhorn and Lady Rachel Cavendish, on 27 July 1951.1 He died on 24 July 1952 at age 23 at KoreaG, killed in action.1
