James Hewitt, 1st Viscount Lifford1

     James Hewitt, 1st Viscount Lifford was born in 1709 at Coventry, Warwickshire, EnglandG.2 He was the son of William Hewitt and Hannah Lewis.2 He married, firstly, Mary Rhys Williams, daughter of Venerable Rice Williams, circa 1749 at Essex, EnglandG.2 He married, secondly, Ambrosia Bayley, daughter of Reverend Charles Bayley, on 15 December 1766 at St. Giles Fields, Holborn, London, EnglandG.2 He died on 28 April 1789 at Dublin, County Dublin, IrelandG.2
     He was admitted to Middle Temple in 1742 entitled to practise as a barrister.1 He was a practising Serjeant-at-law in 1754.1 He was a practising King's Serjeant in 1759.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) (Whig) for Coventry between 1761 and 1766.1 He held the office of Justice of the King's Bench between 1766 and 1768.1 He held the office of Lord Chancellor [Ireland] between 1767 and 1789.1 He was created 1st Baron Lifford of Lifford, co. Donegal [Ireland] on 9 January 1768.1 He was created 1st Viscount Lifford, co. Donegal [Ireland] on 8 January 1781.1 He held the office of Lord Justice [Ireland] in 1787.1

     Frideswide Moore is the daughter of Dr. John Moore and Frideswide Coddington.1 She married Lt.-Col. Hon. Robert Henry Southwell, son of Thomas George Southwell, 1st Viscount Southwell of Castle Mattress and Margaret Hamilton, in 1786.1
     From 1786, her married name became Southwell.1

     Lt.-Col. Hon. Robert Henry Southwell was born in October 1745.2 He was the son of Thomas George Southwell, 1st Viscount Southwell of Castle Mattress and Margaret Hamilton.1,2 He married Frideswide Moore, daughter of Dr. John Moore and Frideswide Coddington, in 1786.1 He died on 29 August 1817 at age 71.2
     He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Downpatrick [Ireland] between 1776 and 1783.2 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the 8th Dragoons.2

     Thomas George Southwell, 1st Viscount Southwell of Castle Mattress was born on 4 May 1721.1 He was the son of Thomas Southwell, 2nd Baron Southwell of Castle Mattress and Mary Coke.2 He married Margaret Hamilton, daughter of Arthur Cecil Hamilton, on 18 June 1741.2 He died on 29 August 1780 at age 59.2
     He was educated at Lincoln's Inn, London, EnglandG.2 He gained the rank of officer in 1738 in the 2nd Foot Guards.2 He was educated at Christ Church, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, EnglandG.2 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Enniscorthy [Ireland] between 1747 and 1760.2 He held the office of Constable of Limerick Castle between 1749 and 1780.2 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for County Limerick [Ireland] between 1761 and 1766.2 He held the office of Governor of County Limerick between 1762 and 1780.2 He succeeded as the 3rd Baron Southwell of Castle Mattress, co. Limerick [I., 1717] on 19 November 1766.2 He succeeded as the 4th Baronet Southwell, of Castle Mattress, co. Limerick [I., 1662] on 19 November 1766.2 He gained the title of 1st Viscount Southwell of Castle Mattress, co. Limerick [Ireland] on 18 July 1776.2

     Katherine Gifford was born in 1737.2 She was the daughter of Arthur Gifford and Barbara Cliffe.1,2 She married, secondly, John St. Georgio.2 She married, firstly, Hon. William Brabazon, son of Edward Brabazon, 7th Earl of Meath and Martha Collins, on 10 May 1764.3 She died on 11 February 1833.3
     Her married name became St. Georgio.2 From 10 May 1764, her married name became Brabazon.3
