     Lt.-Col. Rowland Morrow Byers was born on 18 June 1905 at Belfast, County Antrim, Ireland.3,2 He was the son of Sir John William Byers and Fanny Reid.4 He married Mary Davey Barbour, daughter of Rt. Hon. Sir John Milne Barbour, 1st and last Bt., on 3 July 1929.3 He died on 26 September 2000 at age 95 at Birchwood, Virginia Water, Surrey, EnglandG.2
     He was educated at Trinity College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, EnglandG.3 He was educated at Campbell College, Belfast, County Antrim, IrelandG.1 He fought in the Second World War, where he was mentioned in despatches.3 He gained the rank of Honorary Lieutenant-Colonel in the Royal Artillery.3 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of the City of Belfast.3 He was appointed Officer, Most Venerable Order of the Hospital of St. John of Jerusalem (O.St.J.)3 He lived in 1976 at Birchwood, Virginia Water, Surrey, EnglandG.3
