Sir Robert Bateson, 2nd Bt. was born circa 1793.1 He was the son of Thomas Bateson and Margaret Douglas.1 He married Elizabeth Hammond, daughter of Anthony Hammond and Jane Close, in February 1819.1 He died on 15 April 1870 at Castruse, County Donegal, IrelandG, without issue.1
He held the office of Sheriff of County Donegal in 1822.1 He succeeded as the 2nd Baronet Bateson-Harvey, of Killoquin, co. Antrim [G.B., 1789] on 5 June 1825.1 He lived at Castruse, County Donegal, IrelandG.1
On his death, his baronetcy became extinct.1
