Rachel Howland1

     Rachel Howland was the daughter of Michael Howland and Hannah Coldham.1,2 She married Sir George Beaumont, 6th Bt., son of William Beaumont and Elizabeth Jordain, on 26 March 1751 at St. John's Church, Clerkenwell, London, EnglandG.1,2 She died on 5 May 1814.1 She was buried at Dunmow, Essex, EnglandG.2 Her will (dated 17 Febuary 1812) was proven (by probate) on 16 June 1814.2
     From 26 March 1751, her married name became Beaumont.1

     Sir George Howland Beaumont, 7th Bt. was born on 6 November 1753.1 He was the son of Sir George Beaumont, 6th Bt. and Rachel Howland.1 He was baptised on 17 December 1753 at Dunmow, Essex, EnglandG.3 He married Margaret Willes, daughter of John Willes and Frances Freke, on 6 May 1778.1 He died on 7 February 1827 at age 73 at Cole Orton Hall, Leicestershire, EnglandG, without issue.1,3 His will was proven (by probate) on 24 March 1827.3
     He succeeded as the 7th Baronet Beaumont, of Stoughton Grange, co. Leicester [E., 1661] on 4 February 1762.1 He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, EnglandG.3 He matriculated at New College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, EnglandG, on 4 May 1772.3 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Beeralston between 1790 and 1796.1 He was appointed Fellow, Society of Antiquaries (F.S.A.)1 He graduated with a Doctor of Civil Laws (D.C.L.)1 He was a Trustee of the British Museum.1 He was a founder of the National Gallery.1 He was a painter and patron of the arts.1 His last will was dated 26 August 1824. He lived at Great Dunmow, Essex, EnglandG.3 He lived at Cole Orton, Leicestershire, EnglandG.3

     Margaret Willes was born circa 1766.2 She was the daughter of John Willes and Frances Freke.1,2 She married Sir George Howland Beaumont, 7th Bt., son of Sir George Beaumont, 6th Bt. and Rachel Howland, on 6 May 1778.1 She died on 14 July 1829 at Cole Orton Hall, Leicestershire, EnglandG.1,2 Her will was proven (by probate) in October 1829.2
     From 6 May 1778, her married name became Beaumont.1

     He graduated from Brasenose College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, EnglandG, in 1760 with a Master of Arts (M.A.)2 He was the Rector at Exminster, Devon, EnglandG.2 He held the office of Prebendary of Exeter in 1777.2
