Margaret Pelham was born on 14 April 1712.1 She was the daughter of Thomas Pelham and Elizabeth Pelham.1 She married Reverend Sir William Ashburnham, 4th Bt., son of Sir Charles Ashburnham, 3rd Bt. and unknown wife (?), on 9 November 1736 at Guestling, Sussex, EnglandG.1 She died on 29 August 1780 at age 68.1 She was buried on 6 September 1780 at Guestling, Sussex, EnglandG.1

Sir William Ashburnham, 5th Bt. was born on 5 March 1738/39.1 He was the son of Reverend Sir William Ashburnham, 4th Bt. and Margaret Pelham.1 He was baptised on 29 March 1739 at St. Anne's, Soho, London, EnglandG.1 He married Alicia Woodgate, daughter of Reverend Francis Woodgate, in April 1766 at St. Clement Danes Church, The Strand, London, EnglandG.1 He died on 21 August 1823 at age 84 at Broomham, Sussex, EnglandG.1 His will was proven (by probate) in 1824.1
He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Hastings between 1761 and 1774.1 He succeeded as the 5th Baronet Ashburnham, of Bromham [in Guestling], Sussex [E., 1661] on 4 September 1797.1 He held the office of Sheriff of Sussex between 1802 and 1803.1 He lived at Broomham, Sussex, EnglandG.1
