Albrecht I Herzog von Bayern-Straubing Comte de Hainaut et Graaf van Holland en Zeeland was born on 25 July 1336 at Munich, Germany.2 He was the son of Ludwig IV von Bayern, Holy Roman Emperor and Marguerite III d'Avesnes, Comtesse de Hainaut et Gravin van Holland en Zeeland.3 He married, firstly, Margareta von Schlesien-Liegnitz, daughter of Ludwig I Herzog von Brieg, on 19 July 1353.2 He married, secondly, Margareta von der Mark-Kleve, daughter of Adolf III Graf von der Mark Graf von Kleve und Kurfürst von Köln and Margareta von Jülich-Berg, on 30 March 1394.2 He died on 12 December 1404 at age 68 at Binnehof Palace, The Hague, The Netherlands.2 He was buried at Hof Chapel, The Hague, The Netherlands.2
He gained the title of Herzog von Bayern-Straubing in 1353.3 He held the office of Regent of Holland between 1358 and 1389.4 He succeeded as the Graaf van Holland en Zeeland in 1389.4 He gained the title of Comte de Hainaut in 1389.1
