He married, secondly, Maria Pia di Savoia-Carignano, Principessa d'Italia, daughter of Umberto II di Savoia-Carignano, Re d'Italia and Marie José de Belgique, Princesse de Belgique, in 2003.³ He died on 7 July 2018 at age 92 at Neilly-sur-Seine, France.
     He gained the title of Principe Michel di Parma.¹ He was given the name of Michael Marie Xavier Valemar George Robert Charles Aymard di Borbone at birth.
