     Ferdinando I de Medici, Granduca di Toscana was born on 30 July 1549.3 He was the son of Cosimo I de Medici, Granduca di Toscana and Eleanora de Toledo. He married Christine de Lorraine, daughter of Charles III, Duc de Lorraine and Claude de Valois, Princesse de France, on 3 May 1589.2 He died on 17 February 1609 at age 59.2
     He succeeded as the Granduca di Toscana in 1587.4

He married, secondly, Maria Anna Erzherzogin von Österreich, daughter of Ferdinand II von Österreich, Holy Roman Emperor and Maria-Anna Prinzessin von Bayern, on 15 July 1635 at Vienna, AustriaG.2 He died on 27 September 1651 at age 78.2
     He was a member of the House of Wittelsbach.3 He succeeded as the Herzog von Bayern in 1597.3 He was created Kurfürst von Bayern in 1623.1
