Lord Claud John Hamilton was born on 20 February 1843 at Strabane, County Tyrone, IrelandG.2 He was the son of James Hamilton, 1st Duke of Abercorn and Lady Louisa Jane Russell.1 He married Carolina Chandos-Pole, daughter of Edward Sacheverell Chandos-Pole and Lady Anna Caroline Stanhope, on 20 July 1878.1 He died on 26 January 1925 at age 81.1
