Major Sir John Stanley Vincent Marling, 4th Bt. was born on 26 July 1910.2 He was the son of Sir Charles Murray Marling and Lucia Slade.3 He married, firstly, Georgina Brenda Somerset, daughter of Henry FitzRoy Edward Somerset and Evelyn Juliet Adamthwaite, on 27 October 1939.1 He and Georgina Brenda Somerset were divorced in 1957.1 He married, secondly, Marjorie Francis Esclair-Monde Stewart, daughter of Sir Francis Hugh Stewart, on 2 November 1957.4 He died on 20 September 1977 at age 67.2
He was educated at Winchester College, Winchester, Hampshire, England.2 He was educated at Royal Military College, Sandhurst, Berkshire, England.2 He succeeded as the 4th Baronet Marling, of Stanley Park and Sedbury Park, co. Gloucester [U.K., 1882] on 29 May 1936.1 He fought in the Second World War.2 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the 17th/21st Lancers.2 He was appointed Officer, Order of the British Empire (O.B.E.) in 1945.2
