Susanna Balfour1

     Susanna Balfour was the daughter of Sir William Balfour of Pitcullo and Isabella van Weede.1 She married, firstly, Hugh Hamilton, 1st Lord Hamilton, Baron of Glenawly, son of Malcolm Hamilton and Mary Wilkie, after 11 May 1659.1 She married, secondly, Henry Mervyn after April 1678.1 She died on 11 December 1687 at Dublin, County Dublin, IrelandG.1 She was buried on 14 December 1687 at St. Werburgh's, Dublin, County Dublin, IrelandG.1 Her will (dated April 1686) was proven (by probate) in 1690.1
     From after 11 May 1659, her married name became Hamilton.1 After her marriage, Susanna Balfour was styled as Baroness Hamilton of Glenawly on 2 March 1660/61. From after April 1678, her married name became Mervyn.1

     William Hamilton, 2nd Lord Hamilton, Baron of Glenawly was the son of Hugh Hamilton, 1st Lord Hamilton, Baron of Glenawly and Susanna Balfour.1 He died in February 1680/81, killed accidentally, without issue.1
     He succeeded as the 2nd Lord Hamilton, Baron of Glenawly, co. Fermanagh [I., 1661] in April 1678.1
     On his death, the Barony of Hamilton of Glenawly became extinct.1
