He married Aspasia Manos, daughter of Colonel Panayiotis Manos and Maria Argyropoulos, on 4 November 1919 at Athens, Greece^G.² He died on 25 October 1920 at age 27 at Athens, Greece^G, from blood poisoning after a bite by a monkey.² He was buried at Tatoi, Greece^G.
     He was crowned King of the Hellenes on 14 June 1917.² He gained the title of King Alexandros I of Greece on 14 June 1917.²
