Lt.-Col. Arthur Morton Grenfell was born on 21 October 1873.2 He was the son of Pascoe du Pré Grenfell and Sophia Grenfell.1,2 He married, firstly, Lady Victoria Sybil Mary Grey, daughter of Albert Henry George Grey, 4th Earl Grey and Alice Holford, on 23 July 1901.2 He married, secondly, Hilda Margaret Lyttelton, daughter of General Rt. Hon. Sir Neville Gerald Lyttelton and Katharine Sarah Stuart-Wortley, on 23 February 1909.1 He died on 24 November 1958 at age 85.1
He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, EnglandG.2 He fought in the First World War, where he was mentioned in despatches three times and was wounded twice.2 He was awarded the Distinguished Service Order (D.S.O.) in 1916.2 He gained the rank of Colonel in the Royal Buckinghamshire Hussars.2 He was awarded the Territorial Decoration (T.D.)2
