     Frances Erskine was born circa 1773.² She was the daughter of General Sir William Erskine of Torry, 1st Bt. and Frances Moray. She married Lt.-Gen. William Wemyss, son of Hon. James Wemyss of Wemyss and Lady Elizabeth Sutherland, on 16 September 1788.¹ She died on 1 February 1798.¹
     Her married name became Wemyss.

     Lady Emma Hay was the daughter of William Hay, 17th Earl of Erroll and Alicia Eliot.¹ She married Rear-Admiral James Erskine Wemyss of Wemyss, son of Lt.-Gen. William Wemyss and Frances Erskine, on 8 August 1826.² She died on 17 July 1841.¹
     Her married name became Wemyss.

     Augusta Millicent Anne Mary Kennedy-Erskine was born posthumously on 11 May 1831.¹ She was the daughter of Hon. John Kennedy-Erskine and Lady Augusta Fitz-Clarence.³ She was baptised on 16 June 1831 at Dun, Angus, Scotland.² She married James Hay Erskine-Wemyss, son of Rear-Admiral James Erskine Wemyss of Wemyss and Lady Emma Hay, on 17 May 1855.³ She died on 11 February 1895 at age 63.³
     Her married name became Erskine-Wemyss.

     Lady Lillian Mary Paulet was born on 26 July 1859.² She was the daughter of John Paulet, 14th Marquess of Winchester and Hon. Mary Montagu.² She married Randolph Gordon Erskine-Wemyss of Wemyss, son of James Hay Erskine-Wemyss and Augusta Millicent Anne Mary Kennedy-Erskine, on 18 July 1884.¹ She and Randolph Gordon Erskine-Wemyss of Wemyss were divorced in 1898.¹ She died on 11 November 1952 at age 93.¹
     Her married name became Erskine-Wemyss.

     Lady Eva Cecilia Margaret Wellesley was the daughter of William Henry Wellesley, 2nd Earl Cowley and Emily Gwendoline Williams.¹ She married Randolph Gordon Erskine-Wemyss of Wemyss, son of James Hay Erskine-Wemyss and Augusta Millicent Anne Mary Kennedy-Erskine, on 23 November 1898.¹ She died on 4 March 1948.²
     Her married name became Erskine-Wemyss.

     Lady Isabella Margaret Hay was born on 22 February 1800 at Cruden, Aberdeenshire, Scotland^G.² She was the daughter of William Hay, 17th Earl of Erroll and Alicia Eliot.¹ She married Lt.-Gen. William Wemyss, son of Lt.-Gen. William Wemyss and Frances Erskine, on 14 April 1820.¹ She died on 28 July 1868 at age 68.¹
     Her married name became Wemyss.

     Francis Charteris, Lord Elcho was born on 31 January 1748/49.² He was the son of Francis Charteris, 7th Earl of Wemyss and Lady Catherine Gordon.² He married Susan Tracy-Keck, daughter of Anthony Tracy-Keck and Lady Susan Hamilton, on 18 July 1771.³ He died on 20 January 1808 at age 58.²
     He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Haddington Burghs between 1780 and 1787.³ He was admitted to Royal Company of Archers in 1786.² He was styled as Lord Elcho after 1787.²

     Francis Charteris-Wemyss-Douglas, 8th Earl of Wemyss was born on 15 April 1772.¹ He was the son of Francis Charteris, Lord Elcho and Susan Tracy-Keck.¹ He married Margaret Campbell, daughter of Walter Campbell, 9th of Skipness and 3rd of Shawfield and Eleanora Kerr, on 31 May 1794.² He died on 28 June 1853 at age 81.¹
     His name was legally changed to Francis Charteris-Wemyss-Douglas.¹ He was given the name of Francis Charteris at birth.¹ He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England.¹ He was Aide-de-Camp to Commander of Forces, Scotland, his great-uncle, Lord Adam Gordon.¹ He succeeded as the 8th Earl of Wemyss [S., 1633] on 23 December 1810.¹ He succeeded as the 4th Lord Douglas of Neidpath, Lyne and Munard [S., 1697] on 23 December 1810.³ He succeeded as the 4th Viscount of Peebles [S., 1697] on 23 December 1810.³ He succeeded as the 4th Earl of March [S., 1697] on 23 December 1810.³ He succeeded as the 8th Lord Elcho and Methil [S., 1633] on 23 December 1810.¹ He succeeded as the 8th Lord Wemyss of Elcho [S., 1628] on 23 December 1810.¹ He held the office of Lord-Lieutenant of Peebles-shire between 1821 and 1858.¹ He was created 1st Baron Wemyss of Wemyss, co. Fife [U.K.] on 17 July 1821.¹

     Francis Wemyss-Charteris, 9th Earl of Wemyss was born on 14 August 1795.¹ He was the son of Francis Charteris-Wemyss-Douglas, 8th Earl of Wemyss and Margaret Campbell.¹ He married Lady Louisa Bingham, daughter of Richard Bingham, 2nd Earl of Lucan and Lady Elizabeth Belasyse, on 22 August 1817 at Paris, France^G.² He died on 1 January 1883 at age 87.¹
     He was educated at Christ Church, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England.¹ He was admitted to Royal Company of Archers.¹ He gained the rank of Lieutenant-General in 1842.¹ He held the office of Lord-Lieutenant of Peebles-shire between 1850 and 1880.¹ He succeeded as the 9th Lord Wemyss of Elcho [S., 1633] on 28 June 1853.¹ He succeeded as the 5th Viscount of Peebles [S., 1697] on 28 June 1853.¹ He succeeded as the 5th Earl of March [S., 1697] on 28 June 1853.¹ He succeeded as the 9th Earl of Wemyss [S., 1633] on 28 June 1853.¹ He succeeded as the 5th Lord Douglas of Neidpath, Lyne and Munard [S., 1697] on 28 June 1853.¹ He succeeded as the 9th Lord Elcho and Methil [S., 1633] on 28 June 1853.¹ He succeeded as the 2nd Baron Wemyss of Wemyss, co.      Lady Catherine Gordon was born on 2 December 1723 at Scotland^G.² She was the daughter of Alexander Gordon, 2nd Duke of Gordon and Lady Henrietta Mordaunt.¹ She married Francis Charteris, 7th Earl of Wemyss, son of James Wemyss, 5th Earl of Wemyss and Janet Charteris, on 12 September 1745.¹ She died on 21 January 1786 at age 62 at Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland^G.²
     From 12 September 1745, her married name became Charteris.¹
