     Erlend, Jarl of Orkney was born before 1056. He was the son of Thorfinn II, 1st Earl of Caithness and Ingibiorg Finnsdottir.1 He married Thora Sumarlididottir, daughter of Somerled Uspaksson.1 He died in 1099.1
     He gained the title of Jarl of Orkney.2 He gained the title of 2nd Earl of Caithness [S., 1030] circa 1056, jointly.2 In 1066 on the expedition to England, and were allowed to leave by King Harold Godwinson after the Stamford Bridge.3

     Thora Sumarlididottir is the daughter of Somerled Uspaksson.1 She married Erlend, Jarl of Orkney, son of Thorfinn II, 1st Earl of Caithness and Ingibiorg Finnsdottir.1

     Alice le Meschin, Lady of Skipton is the daughter of William le Meschin, Lord of Copeland and Cecilia de Rumilly, Lady of Skipton.1 She married, firstly, William fitz Duncan, Earl of Moray, son of Duncan II, King of Scotland and Æthelreda of Scotland, circa 1138.1 She married William (?)1 She married, secondly, Alexander FitzGerold.2
     She was also known as Alice de Romeli. She gained the title of Lady of Skipton and Craven.2 Her married name became FitzGerold.2
