Algernon George Percy, 6th Duke of Northumberland was born on 2 May 1810.1 He was the son of George Percy, 5th Duke of Northumberland and Louisa Harcourt Stuart-Wortley.1 He married Louisa Drummond, daughter of Henry Drummond and Lady Henrietta Hay-Drummond, on 26 May 1845.2 He died on 2 January 1899 at age 88.1
He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) (Conservative) for Beeralston between 1831 and 1832.1 He retired from the military in 1837, with the rank of Captain, late of the Grenadier Guards.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) (Conservative) for North Northumberland between 1852 and 1865.1 He held the office of a Lord of the Admiralty between 1858 and 1859.1 He was appointed Privy Counsellor (P.C.) in 1859.1 He was Vice-President of the Board of Trade between March 1859 and June 1859.1 He succeeded as the 6th Earl Percy [G.B., 1766] on 21 August 1867.1 He succeeded as the 6th Duke of Northumberland [G.B., 1766] on 21 August 1867.1 He succeeded as the 3rd Earl of Beverley, co.
