The grape is most often used as a blending variety in the Denominazione di origine controllata (DOC) zones of Pinerolese, with Barbera, Persan, Freisa and , and Valsusa, with Barbera, Dolcetto, Neretta Cuneese and other local red Piemontese varieties.
