- The McLaren M6A was a Group 7 prototype race car deisnged and developed by driver Bruce McLaren, and built by his Bruce McLaren Motor Racing team for their entry in 1967 Can-Am season. As a replacement for the team's M1Bs from 1966, the Chevrolet-powered M6A's improved design earned Bruce McLaren and his team their first of multiple Can-Am championships. After the M6As were replaced by the M8A in preparation for 1968, McLaren and technical partner Trojan–Tauranac Racing developed the M6B which was sold to customers for use in Can-Am as well as other racing series. The M6 name was later used in the development of a closed-cockpit sports car for the 24 Hours of Le Mans and known as the M6GT. The company's plan to homologate it for the FIA's Group 4 regulations was, however, never completed, and only a few M6GT prototypes were finished by McLaren and Trojan. Two M6GTs were later converted to road cars, one of which became Bruce McLaren's personal transport. (en)
- La McLaren M6A è una vettura da competizione realizzata dal pilota Bruce McLaren e dalla sua azienda Bruce McLaren Motor Racing per competere nel Campionato CanAm del 1967, in sostituzione della precedente del 1966, che gli permise di vincere il primo dei tanti titoli Can-Am grazie alla migliore progettazione della vettura e al motore Chevrolet. Per la stagione 1968 della Can-Am la McLaren mise in pista la nuova M8A, pertanto fu sviluppata con la collaborazione del team Trojan la M6B, di cui furono realizzati 26 esemplari venduti a piloti privati interessati a competere nella Can-Am e in altri campionati. La M6 fu utilizzata in seguito per lo sviluppo di una vettura sport che avrebbe dovuto competere nella 24 Ore di Le Mans e conosciuta col nome di M6GT. I piani della McLaren prevedevano l'omologazione della vettura nel Gruppo 4, che prevedeva una produzione minima di 50 esemplari (ridotti a 25 a partire dalla stagione 1969), ma l'omologazione non fu mai ottenuta a causa del esiguissimo numero di esemplari realizzati, due dei quali omologati per l'uso stradale e di cui uno impiegato dallo stesso Bruce McLaren come auto personale.
