If you're a fan of Skyrim, and/or FallOut 4 you're going to love this. I've been modding Skyrim and FO4 for well over a decade already and if you visit the Steam forums for Skyrim you've probably seen my coffee house thread.

Todd knocked it out of the park with this one. It has it's quirks, and the mechanics take some getting used to. The modding community is already embracing it, Nexus is seeing over 100 mods a day and the modding tools aren't even out yet. I expect to be playing this for years. The game is surprisingly optimized and runs well out of the box.

EDIT - Okay, so a slightly more 'mature' review now that I'm a few hundred hours in and the hype has mostly worn off ;-)

I love the game. It's a bit unfinished. Wonderfully, beautifully, tastefully slightly unfinished. As a standalone vanilla game it plays great out of the box. It promises much, and delivers everything it promises. The different vistas from world to world are breathtaking. From the stark beauty of a barren ice moon, to lush tropical forests full of alien life. The replayability in different roles and the ability to ignore the main quest and write your own story is classic Bethesda. Todd delivers.

Here's the thing, it's more than the sum of it's parts. As a framework for modding, this is an extraordinary canvas to work with, and some of the heavy weights in the community have already embraced it. This is a game that will evolve over time and just keep getting better because of the modding community. That's not to take anything away from BGS, they provided the canvas and that's the hard part. This game is worth the money, you will not be disappointed.
