- Holotype: FMNH 77972, adult ♂, skin and skull, collected by Harry Hoogstraal on 13 February 1951.
- Type locality: “Kariet Wadi Dhahr, six miles northwest of San'a[, Yemen]. Altitude about 6,400 feet”.
