Dr.  Alex Balbir serves as the Chief Growth Officer at Sound Off.  Alex is passionate about empowering veterans into care, on their own terms.   

Prior to joining Sound Off, he served as the Director of Independence Services at Wounded Warrior Project overseeing a national, home and community-based program for veterans with traumatic injuries such as brain injury and post-traumatic stress.  Previous roles in the healthcare sector included consultant for the Department of Defense and Chief of Operations for clinical research at the National Intrepid Center of Excellence. In 2019, he was selected as a President George W. Bush Veteran Leadership Scholar.  Alex currently serves in the United States Navy Reserve as a Medical Service Corps Officer. 

He obtained his Doctorate of Philosophy (PhD) in neurophysiology and public health from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, focusing his work on sleep disorders. He also holds Master’s degrees in business administration (MBA) from the University of North Carolina Kenan-Flagler Business School and quantitative management/business analytics (MSQM) from the Duke University Fuqua School of Business.

Alex’s personal interests include playing the guitar, supporting Chelsea Football Club, and spending time with his family playing beach volleyball, archery, and going to concerts.
