SEGUNDO CAMINO-MOGRO
I am a Ph.D. in Economics (Cum Laude) at Universidad Complutense de Madrid - Spain. I hold a MSc. in Economics at the same university in 2015. Also, I am Economist and Business Administration from Universidad Católica de Santiago de Guayaquil - Ecuador. My Ph.D. dissertation was: "Essays on the determinants of productivity and firm performance: Evidence from Ecuador". My thesis focused on endogenous determinants that could affect business productivity.
Now, I am working at the Municipality of Quito - City Research Institute as Director of Strategic Planning in Mobility; and as an Invited Professor and Associate Researcher at ESAI Business School - Universidad Espíritu Santo and Ecuadorian Political Economy Lab (EPEL). I was in the National Assembly of Ecuador as an Economic and Political advisor, Visiting Research Fellow at the University of Coimbra at the Centre for Business and Economics Research (CeBER), and an External Consultant at the InterAmerican Development Bank (IADB) for the Infrastructure and Energy - INE/ENE division. Moreover, I was the National Director of the Economic Research Department at Superintendencia de Compañías, Valores y Seguros del Ecuador (SCVS) in Guayaquil, an Invited Professor at Universidad Metropolitana del Ecuador, Universidad del Río, ECOTEC University, Universidad Católica de Santiago de Guayaquil (UCSG), Universidad Agraria del Ecuador (UAE), Universidad Politécnica Salesiana Sede Guayaquil; and Invited Professor in the MBA and Master in Finance Program at Universidad de las Américas (UDLA), Invited Professor in the MBA and Master in Circular Economy at Pontificia Universidad Católica del Ecuador (PUCE), Invited Professor in the Master of Economics and Business at Escuela Superior Politécnica del Litoral (ESPOL).
My main research focuses on the study of firm productivity, competition, regulation, and public economics. I am interested in combining evidence from public economics and firm productivity.
