I am a Research Professor of Economics at Notre Dame. My research focuses on poverty in the United States with a particular focus on housing subsidies, public transit, criminal justice, and urban geography. I study these topics by working with practitioners on field experiments and quasi-experimental studies. Prior to coming to Notre Dame, I taught at Hope College and completed a Ph.D. in Economics from Georgetown University.
