UK regional carrier based at Humberside Airport, Lincolnshire. Operations commenced in December 1997 on the Humberside to Aberdeen route. In February 1999 it purchased Manchester-based Air Kilroe and acquired two BAE Jetstream 31 aircraft. Thus began a long association with the Jetstream 31 & 41 types by the company. Eastern briefly operated services to London City from Newcastle using a leased Dornier 328 jet but route was short lived due to increased charges at London City Airport. The airline also operates significant wet-lease contracts and ad-hoc charter flights across the UK & Europe.
